The game is based on the White Elephant party game. Each contestant will choose a gift to start off with, and these gifts contain big prizes like cash, trips, and cars. The next person can choose a different gift or one that someone else has already chosen. When it gets down to two contestants standing, they each have to then decide to "Keep Mine" or "Take It All." If they both choose Keep Mine, they go home with their gifts. If one chooses Keep Mine and the other Take It All, the greedy one gets both gifts and the other one goes home empty handed. If they both opt for Take It All, they both lose it all.
It's a simple premise and you can expect all the trappings of an event program - dark set, neon lights, extra drama, etc. (That's a total guess but an educated one - I'd be happy to be wrong.) It has loads of potential to be fun though, and I really enjoy this type of holiday short-run event. I really wish they had decided to bring back Deal or No Deal for a couple of weeks, either instead of or in addition to this one.
If you're a fan of The Voice, be aware that the usual two-hour performance shows on December 10th and 17th will be shortened to one hour each.
