Let's Make a Deal has been chugging along as a CBS daytime staple, but now the show is getting some negative attention thanks to a lawsuit.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, two wheelchair-bound individuals, Arnie Pike and Christie Rudder, are suing the show for not providing proper access for the disabled. The pair attended a taping last July, and had difficulties with everything from parking to finding food to accessing a washroom. Then, when they were finally able to enter, they were seated "in an 'extremely dark' place full of tangled cables and plywood to the 'extreme right' and with views obstructed by six cameras and other equipment."

The pair are suing for monetary damages for the embarassment they suffered, and seeking an injuction to have the studio shut down until it can be made safe and accessible for disabled folks.

Also of note, the HR article points out that the pair have sued at least 20 other establishments and companies for discrimination, including Dancing With the Stars.

I want to be sympathetic. Shows SHOULD do what they can to be accessible to all. Even so, when I look at the fact that this same couple has sued TWENTY establishments, I’m less sympathetic. These aren’t folks were wronged in isolation. These are folks LOOKING to make a stink. Surely there’s a better way to make the needed changes happen….

Article doesn’t say if this couple got any money for ther complains, but sure seems like they are just doing it for the money. Granted, shows should have access for wheel chairs and disabled parking but these two people sound might fishy to me. Hope the shows just improve their studio’s disabled entrances but pay no money.

Don’t they want to be treated like everyone else? Don’t give them special treatment.
