CBS Shooting Pilot for The Whole 19 Yards

Friday March 20, 2009
CBS is going ahead with filming the pilot episode of a new game show called The Whole 19 Yards. The show is brought to us by Endemol USA, the same folks behind ABC's hit game Wipeout. Why is that relevant? Because 19 Yards also features an obstacle course.

The difference though is that the new show combines the physical challenge with a quiz show. Contestants are given a question, and have to run the obstacle course to hit their buzzer in order to have a chance to answer.

The pilot is being hosted by Chris Hardwick, from Singled Out (MTV). He's also a comedian, and you can find his blog at Nerdist.com.

The Whole 19 Yards conducted casting calls earlier this year, and it's interesting to note that, while the initial call was searching for people with "brawn and brains," it went on to welcome those with either one or the other. So I'm guessing we'll see contestants who can run the course but struggle with the trivia, and vice versa.

The executive producer for The Whole 19 Yards is Scott Einziger.
