Readers Respond: What Game Show Would You Like to See Back in Prime Time?

Responses: 55

By , About.com Guide

With classic or canceled game shows being considered for renewal, which shows would you like to see overhauled and brought back to prime time? Do you think some would work better with modern audiences than with others? Would you make tweaks to your favorite show before bringing it back, or do you think it could stand on its own as is? Lastly, who would you pick to host? Sound off right here! Name That Show

Letters to Laugh-In

Okay, they'd never bring this back, but I'd love to see the shows they did do re-aired.

I've Got a Secret

How about both versions of I've Got a Secret? There are so many old shows I just can't name them all.

Return Of the Old Shows

I would like to see the return of SuperMarket Sweep! I would also like to see Name That Tune! Shows of that Nature.

Scrabble and Jokers Wild

Both shows are very interesting and deserve to be bought back.

Classic GSN

I forgot Hollywood Squares with Peter Marshall, Groucho Marx and the original Match Game with Gene

Classic GSN

What's My Line, Password - Ludden & Bert, Concentration, Tattle Tales - Bert, What's my Name, Newlywed Game-Bob the older people enjoy these and remember these great shows even I've Got a secret -Gary Moore

Tattletales

I vaguely remember TT in the '70s, but with all the hoopla with celebs, this would be a funny show to redo. Problem would be finding 3 married celebrity couples. Match game would be great if done right. Keep the original format and up the prize money. Either Michael Berger or Jimmy Pardo could host. I agree on Tic Tac Dough and Joker's Wild for side by sides. Todd Newton should host one of them. How about Pyramid at 2 PM and Tattletales at 2:30 on CBS. Will be waiting with bated breath for The Talk to go bye bye.

Game Show Renaissance

1. Tic Tac Dough - excellent quiz show 2. The Joker's Wild - would pair up brilliantly with TTD in syndication 3. Press Your Luck - who doesn't want this one to make a comeback? 4. Sale of the Century - one of the most exciting shows ever; Temptation did it no justice 5. Scrabble - Scrabble Sprint was one of the best endgames on TV 6. Pyramid - I've seen a $1,000,000 Pyramid video game surface very recently, but what about the actual show? 7. Greed - do you feel the need? 8. The Challengers - a short-lived revival of the Who, What, Where Game from 1990; it could be a real success if given enough exposure 9. Split Second - was an exciting quiz show on ABC back in the 70's 10. Concentration - was a mainstay on daytime TV for over 3 decades

revival

i would like to see a revival of name that tune, which hasn't been tried since 1984.

scrabble

It is one of the best game shows around and very well missed.

Password and Password Plus

Loved Password and Password Plus, also Concentration. Great games. We need more game shows instead of reality tv.
—Guest Laura

Double Dare

Everybody remembers that old show hosted by Alex Trebek? Double Dare? They should revive it. They can use me as a host because I watched every rerun on GSN. Make the jackpot $1,000,000 and the money amounts can be multiplied by ten. If they revive it they will have to use that awesome theme that everybody loves.

Password

We need Password back on TV. I know Bert and Alan are gone but there are some really good hosts, like Chuck Woolery.

Tic Tac Dough, more of Card Sharks

I would like to see more of Card Sharks, and bring back Tic Tac Dough

Classic GSN

I love Match Game, Pyramid could you PLEASE bring back What's my Line, What's my Name, Password (Allen Ludden), Let's Make a Deal (Monty Hall), Family Feud (Richard Dawson), Newlywed Game (Bob Eubanks), Press Your Luck, Concentration. If you can't bring these back PLEASE have a Classic GSN. I know so many people that would watch this, the new shows are not worth watching and I don't. I only watch Match Game.
