 'Pyramid' with Donny Osmond

After the winner's circle with Elaine Hendrix

The Game Show I Played On

Pyramid with Donny Osmond 2002

How I Applied

I applied online. I live in Philadelphia and work for an airline so I fly for free. I flew out to LA for the audition. There were two auditions.

How I Fared in the Game

I won the first round and went to the winner's circle with celebrity Elaine Hendrix. I went to the top of the pyramid and won $10,000. I will post a video of the winnner's circle on the Facebook page. We changed celebrities and I was paired with Tim Stack and lost the second round.

How I Prepared for the Game

I played the home version of the game with anyone I could find for weeks. I also watched the old Dick Clark version and would play along by covering the answers and trying to answer the clues. When it was my time to give, I would mute the volume and give clues.

The Highlight of the Experience Was...

Ever since I was a kid, I would watch the Dick Clark version of the show and always wanted to go to the winner's circle and jump up and hug the celebrity when I won. I finally got to do it. It was so much fun being on a set, filiming in front of an audience and getting to meet Donny Osmond. Donny was as nice in person as he appears to be on TV. He sat down with each of us and talked to us to make us less nervous. Being on he show was one of the most fun experiences that I ever had, even if I had not won the money. But hey winning the money made it ever more fun!

Advice

  • Be yourself, show your personality during the audition but don't be overpowering.
  • Look your best. I don't know if anyone would ever admit it but they are looking for well put together people.
  • Practice the show. I could not believe how many people showed up to the audition and had never even played the game before.
  • Shake the hand hello and good bye of the person who is conducting the audition.
  • Have a list of interesting things you do in your spare time.
  • On the set, be prepared to wait. They usually film several shows in one day and you have to wait around for your turn. Don't complain about this.
