Fall 2009 Game Show Premiere Dates
It's All About Daytime This Season

Prime time game shows are all but finished for a while, at least on the major networks (but don't expect that to last too long!). In the meantime, the daytime and syndicated shows are picking up steam. Here are all the premiere dates for your old favorites and a couple of new ones.

'Deal or No Deal' Syndicated - September 7th

It's ba-ack! Deal or No Deal returns for season two in syndication, with Howie, Tameka, and Patricia. Oh, and that scheming Banker too! (Syndicated, check local listings for times and stations.)

'Family Feud' - September 7th

Family Feud returns for another season, hosted by the uber-charming John O'Hurley. Tune in for some fun game additions, including an ongoing opportunity for families to win a new car! (Syndicated, check local listings for times and channels)

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire returns to daytime TV, with Meredith Vieira at the helm. Check your local television listings for air times and channels.

'Jeopardy!' - September 14th

Another challenging season of Jeopardy! kicks off on September 14th. All of your favorite tournaments will be returning, along with special guests presenting some video clues. (Syndicated, check local listings for times and channels.)

'Wheel of Fortune' - September 14th

The new season of Wheel of Fortune features a brand new wedge called "Free Play," which replaces the free spin disc. Check out the premiere to see how it works! (syndicated, check local listings for air times)

'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?' Syndicated - September 21st

Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? has become a daytime, syndicated show. It'll air on local channels, My Network TV, and on CMT, so you've got lots of options to find it! The format will be slightly different, but host Jeff Foxworthy is still on board. Check local listings for times and channels.

'The Price is Right' - September 21st

The Price is Right returns for its 38th season beginning September 21st on CBS. The Friday before that, however, will feature a first-run episode that is rumored to be a tribute to Guiding Light, which will air its last episode that same day. (Check local CBS affiliate listings for air times.)

'Brain Surge' - September 28th


Brain Surge is a game show for kids, and yes, the winner gets slimed. The game is made up of various competitions designed to test the memory, and kids can earn prizes along the way. (Nickelodeon, time TBA)

'Let's Make a Deal' - October 5th

Let's Make a Deal is making a comeback on CBS daytime! Hosted by Wayne Brady, LMAD will be an hour long. (CBS, time TBD)

'The Newlywed Game' - October 12th

The Newlywed Game returns to GSN with brand new episodes, starting October 12th, at 6pm Eastern.

'Catch 21' - October 12th

Catch 21 is back for its third season on GSN, following the premiere of The Newlywed Game, at 6:30pm Eastern.

'Head Games' - October 17th


Head Games is a science-based trivia quizzer hosted by comedian Greg Proops, and the executive producer is Whoopi Goldberg. Expect off-the-wall questions and unbelievable answers! The game lasts four rounds, with a potential $5,000 cash prize at the end. (Science Channel, time TBD)
