Daytime games get back on track, while prime time continues to focus on scripted programming. Never fear: several networks are planning new game shows, it's just a matter of waiting to see when they'll begin.
Here are the confirmed game show premiere dates for the late summer/early fall 2011 season. More will be added as they become available.
'Family Game Night' - September 2nd
The Hub's game show Family Game Night returns with Todd Newton as host. This is a terrific show for the whole family, so if you haven't given it a try yet, make sure you tune in!
'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' September 5th
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire celebrates its tenth season in syndication this year. Of course Meredith Vieira returns to host, and there are lots of fun episodes being planned to honor the show's tenure.
'Family Feud' - September 12th
Family Feud has been enjoying a resurgence thanks to host Steve Harvey and its presence on Twitter and Facebook. Tune in for the season premiere on Monday, September 12th.
'The Game of Life' and 'Scrabble Showdown' - September 17th
The Hub introduces two new game shows, The Game of Life and Scrabble Showdown, both based on their respective board games. The Game of Life looks especially intriguing with some neat visual effects. Catch the season premieres on September 17th, with Life airing at 6pm Eastern followed by Scrabble at 6:30pm.
'Let's Make a Deal' - September 19th
Let's Make a Deal is moving on to its third season of games, prizes, and zonks this year.
'Jeopardy!' - September 19th
Jeopardy!, America's favorite quiz show, heads into Season 28 this year. The Tournament of Champions will be just one of the highlights this season.
'The Price is Right' - September 19th
You don't want to miss this one! The Price is Right is celebrating a huge milestone: its 40th season! Congrats to everyone involved with the show, past and present. Look forward to at least one new pricing game and lots of surprises and special guests this season.
'Wheel of Fortune' - September 19th
The 29th season of Wheel of Fortune brings us a new, full-time announcer. Jim Thornton joins Pat and Vanna on Monday, September 19th.
