Jeopardy! began, in its current syndicated format, in 1984. This 2008-09 season marks the 25th anniversary of America's favorite quiz show! As expected, the creative minds behind Jeopardy! have a season full of surprises, special tournaments, and fun added elements in store for us, the viewers. Here's what we can expect from the season.

Tournament Play:

In addition to the usual College Championships, Teen Tournament, and other annual tourneys, the season will kick off with a special Kids Week Reunion. 15 past Kids Week participants from 1999 and 2000 will return to the show, allowing us to catch up with what they've been doing since their initial appearances.

The Tournament of Champions will offer something special as well, recorded live at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, in January. Recorded on the consumer floor of the event, the newly built set will include the newest in electronic equipment.

'Celebrity Jeopardy!':

Celebrity Jeopardy! will return, and will also be filmed live in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show. Both of these tournament shows will air in the spring of 2009.

We're also told that there will be celebrity matches throughout the season, during which celebs will compete to win money for their favorite charities.

Updates on Notable Contestants:

Throughout the season, we'll be able to catch up on how Jeopardy! changed the lives of past contestants, including such notable names as Ken Jennings, who won 74 consecutive games, and Brad Rutter, who won five consecutive games, as well as three tournaments including the Ultimate Tournament of Champions.

"Ask Alex":

Another feature for this anniversary season is the addition of a segment called "Ask Alex." During these segments, host Alex Trebek will answer some of the most common questions asked of him by fans and audience members.

This list will continue to be updated as we learn more about this exciting season of Jeopardy!
