If you're in Los Angeles looking for a fun night out, The Fix Up Show might be just the thing for you. Hosted by J. Keith van Straaten, this game show strives to play matchmaker while entertaining a live audience.

Here's the basic idea: One single person has a panel of two friends and a celebrity, and this panel interviews two prospective dates for the single person. In the end, each person on the panel casts a vote for the most suitable date, and that person "wins" the date with the single person. In subsequent shows, audiences can find out how these dates went and whether or not a good match was made.

The Fix Up Show has a lot going for it: a simple but fun premise, a great host with impeccable comedic timing, and some memorable (and recognizable) celebrities on the panel. The show is light-hearted and entertaining, combining elements of game shows, relationship shows, and comedy to deliver a solid evening of fun. It's playing at the Acme Comedy Theatre at 135 N. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles.

Host J. Keith van Straaten is no slouch - he helmed the first season of Beat the Geeks, and worked as co-producer and host of the live What's My Line? show in L.A. He is accompanied by a string of well-known celebrities including Dick Cavett and recently, Drew Carey. Upcoming shows will feature the likes of Susan Olsen, Wil Wheaton, and Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe O'Brien from 24).
