The Price is Right is forging ahead with their guest-announcer spots. After current announcer JD Roberto finishes his run, we'll be seeing Jeff B. Davis, followed by Brad Sherwood. The fourth name we can now add to this list is David H. Lawrence XVII.While many will recognize Lawrence as the evil puppet-master Eric Doyle from NBC's Heroes (as pictured above), he actually has quite an extensive resume in voice work. 35 years in radio, extensive work in podcasting, acting as a commentator on major news networks and specialty channels, providing the voice for hundreds of corporate telephone systems - he's got enough experience to give us a professional announcer presence on the show. Lawrence will be at the podium for episodes that tape in late October and early November.
Even though fans are still clearly upset about the ouster of Rich Fields, the show must go on. I'm sure there's a ton of pressure on these guest announcers with big shoes to fill, even without the fan revolt that's currently underway. As I've said before, let's give these guys a chance and see what happens.
