Here's a smart PR move if I've ever seen one! The Who Wants to Be a Millionaire website has been updated, and you can now try the game yourself with the new rules and format.Just head over to www.dadt.com/millionaire to give it a shot. It starts off with an overview of how things work now, and then you're launched into the "randomizer" for questions and dollar amounts. You're then launched into the game - but of course there's no clock now, so no cheating with Google! It's a fun game to play, and you'll be used to how it works by the time the show starts back up on September 13th.
The official rules have also been updated, so you can get a complete explanation of how the new lifeline and the rest of the game will play out.

I am THRILLED to be able to play the new game online! I can’t wait for the new season!
Yes! You can play the game before we even see it on Sept. 13! Wow, I’ve tried about half a dozen times and…it’s harder than it looks! I would like to see if anyone else has had better luck than I! Link above.
Love playing “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” on-line. It was so much fun. Looking forward to being a millionaire contestant. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to play on-line.
I played the game several times. The graphics seemed a bit slow, probably is still being beta-tested. First time: Won $40,000 on first two questions; missing the third (ended with $1,000).
Second time: Won $1,000,000. Banked $58,600, used ATA on one question, jumped on #9. Answered $100K and $250K questions correctly, jumped $500,000 question, and nailed the million (the question was actually used during the ‘Tournament of Ten’ series).
Won $1M on first try!
If the new season is any good will still come down to writing.
Glad to see the podium so they aren’t standing around in the middle of nowhere.
The new music is missing the excitement of the old…wow, I actually care about the music???
Can’t wait to see it in person next month!
Still have reservations as to how the game will work on TV, but it would be nice if the online game actually had the correct answers as correct answers; there’s one glaring mistake for one the questions encountered.
Fortunately, new Millionaire still isn’t anywhere near as lame as Millionaire Hot Seat in Australia.
