Yesterday I was in touch with one of the casting directors for Baggage, Valerie Penso, to clarify things a little. As it turns out, you do indeed have to be single to be on the show, and those who apply who aren't single will be sent away. Penso said that the "wording was incorrect" in the initial casting calls, and those calls have been pulled. Also, the "winners" will receive a date ("for two") as their prize on the show.
Since I had her ear, I asked Penso what exactly the casting staff was looking for in a potential contestant. "We are looking for outgoing singles who can have fun talking about their relationship 'baggage.' A tip for those who want to apply: Be open and have fun with your 'baggage,' we all have some."
Every person who appears on the show will get $500, so if you're single and want to give it a go, you can contact email@example.com for more details. Baggage will debut on GSN on April 19th at 6:30pm Eastern.
