…where’s the list?
Sorry Andrew – been trying to edit this post but my edits aren’t sticking yet. The list is here:
Favorite Game Show Moments of the Decade
If I could pick only one moment, it would have to be the moment CBS announced a new game show for daytime television.
From a viewers standpoint, I would have to go with Grand Slam and seeing Thom McKee compete again. I may have been only 7 years old during his Tic Tac Dough run, but I remember it well, including the look on his face when he realized he chose the wrong box in his final game.
I had already been watching game shows for 5 years at that point, but Thom was an inspiration to me. I think that is when I knew more than any other time that I wanted to be a contestant.
Ken Jennings winning 74 consecutive games and over $2.6 million on Jeopardy! That’s a record that won’t even be remotely approached again.
You can’t say that for sure! How badly Brad Rutter beat Jennings in the ultimate tournament of champions suggests that had Rutter not had to deal with the 5 day limit he could have done even better than Ken. There is surely another one out there somewhere.
