Upcoming Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Guest Hosts
Tuesday November 3, 2009
Here's some good news for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire fans, for a change. Regis Philbin announced this morning on Live! with Regis and Kelly that he's heading out this afternoon to begin taping a weeks' worth of shows as a guest host, filling in for Meredith Vieira while she's on vacation. The shows won't actually air until spring 2010, but at least we know that one of the guest hosts will be worth tuning in for! Live with Regis and Kelly executive producer Michael Gelman will be the expert for the Ask the Expert lifeline that week. A video clip of Regis' announcement this morning will be posted at the Live with Regis and Kelly website later this afternoon, and Meredith Vieira will be a guest on the show this coming Monday, November 9th, to discuss the Tournament of Ten.
I'm sure you noticed that I said "one of the guest hosts" above. Apparently, according to a poster at the Golden-Road message board, the other guest host will be none other than John Henson, co-host of Wipeout!.

I hope Regis works on his clock-management skills before then!
At least Jason S. and I will have plenty to argue about!
Interesting they won’t use that for sweeps weeks. I just wonder if they’ll dumb down the questions like they did for Regis in prime time.
Now that’s one change on Millionaire I’m happy to see Myke, you’ll get no argument from me. While I really hate the clock (and many of the other changes to Millionaire) I’m happy to see Regis finally guest host the syndicated edition for once. I never understood why he didn’t after the Prime Time went off the air, I realize Regis probably get’s paid more than Meredith, but 1 week a season shouldn’t be too expensive.
I wondered how long this post would stand without a mention of the clock!
It’ll be interesting if we can find some folks who attended the taping to see how Regis did this time. Really though, it’s just good to know he’ll be back again.
