Game Show Awards Poll: Favorite Celebrity Team

By , About.com GuideMay 11, 2009

Follow me on:

Here's the next category from the GSN Game Show Awards nominees: Favorite Celebrity Team. I'm not sure this one is all that necessary, since the vast majority of the nominees are culled from the unspectacular Celebrity Family Feud. And really, having Larry the Cable Guy nominated for two awards might be considered overkill.

This seems to be one of those categories that most people don't really care about. You know what I mean - when the show airs on television and this category is announced, most of us will take a bathroom break or go get something to drink. That said, if I have to root for someone here, I guess I'd have to get behind Penn and Teller on Don't Forget the Lyrics (although Edgar Winters should have been included as part of the 'team,' despite the fact that Penn and Teller didn't call on a music legend to help them in a music-based game show. But I digress). At least they entertained, and seemed to actually have a deep appreciation for both the show and music in general.

I guess the real point here is that none of these teams were especially memorable. The Brady kids thing was cute, and Celeb Feud was good for a short run, but deserving of an award? Not so sure about that.

What do you think? Am I being too critical, or does this look like a bit of filler instead of a solid category? Get your votes in, and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Here are all of the polls so far in the Game Show Awards series - remember, we're picking who we want to see take home the titles, and will be comparing our choices with those who actually win.

It is filler, I don’t think you’re being too critical at all, I’m not even going to vote in this one. I really don’t think this category is necessary.

I’m still waiting to be informed that I’ve been nominated for a surprise Most Pathetic Contestant Award :P
